WELCOME TO THE NEWTOWN TWP. DISTRICT 7 GOP
NOVEMBER 4, 2025
MUNICIPAL ELECTION
Municipal = Local
Which means the results of this November election will affect your life as a Newtown Twp. resident, a Bucks County resident and as a Pennsylvanian.
Our district had a 29.83% turnout for the May 20th Primary Election, which was better than all the other Newtown Twp. districts. However, Newtown Twp. 7, that is not good enough especially when a Republican committeewoman from Wrightstown told us at our June meeting that her district had a 94% turnout! How did she do that?! She told us she has been encouraging her constituents to use the Mail-in-Ballots (MIB) and to vote in EVERY ELECTION.
As your elected Committee people for Newtown 7, we want to emphasize the importance of voting in every election, especially primaries!
For example:
Gary Gambardella was the most qualified candidate for Bucks County Court of Common Pleas. Gambardella missed advancing to be a candidate in the General Election by just 9 votes per district across Bucks County's 304 districts. (Gambardella was not "endorsed". Please go to the In the News to read Josh Prince's blog on "endorsements")
When Bucks County Board of Elections (BOE) released the certified results of the 5/20/25 Primary Election, the numbers do not look good for Republicans.
Let's look at the certified results for the Newtown Twp. Supervisors race, Districts 1-8 (All of Newtown Twp.):
Election Day MIB Provisional Total
Edward Merriman (D) 737 1097 9 1843
Melissa Merk (D) 756 1149 10 1915
Valerie Mihalek (R) 676 394 5 1075
Todd McGonigal (R) 657 361 6 1024
(Our district's In Person voting on 5/20, we tied with the Democrats but the MIBs for our district gave this race to the Democrats)
Our District 7 has: 944 registered Republicans, 940 registered Democrats and 512 Independents/Other
Also, according to the BOE :
Bucks County MIB/Absentee Applications approved for 2025:
Democrats - 41,123
Republicans - 19,160
Republicans, the day of one day (Primary/Election Day) voting are over until we can get Act 77 overturned. So, let's utilize the three ways to vote: In Person, Mail-in-Ballot & On Demand Voting. In this election our Republican candidates need every vote!
Please vote in this Municipal Election!
The results will impact your life as a Newtown Twp. resident, Bucks Countian and Pennsylvanian!
Please go to Candidates to read why we need to get our Republican candidates elected on November 4, 2025
